September 2 post: Stage 14 has a profile which looks like the opposite of yesterday's Stage 13. From the stage 14 start in Astorga we'll ride a plateau at 800m elevation for 100 km before the climbing starts. We'll reenter the more difficult section of the Cantabrian Mountains as we head north into the Asturias passing over the category 1 Puerto de San Lorenzo and HC summit finish La Farrapona. Lagos de Somiedo. See below for profiles and climb details.

With two big climbs near the end of this stage, both getting progressively more difficult near the top, this stage is especially well-suited to the pure climbers who need to gain back time. — Steve
