August 22 post: Stage 4 will feature a cat 1 climb right from the start and a HC summit finish after 170 km of racing with lumpy terrain inbetween. The stage takes place mostly in the Granada region starting from Baza before winding its way southwest to the Sierra Nevada where the long 23 km climb to the finish averages 5.7% and ramps up to 10%. Two years ago, David Moncoutie (Cofidis) pulled off one of his epic mountain stage wins which have defined his career by soloing the stage 13 Sierra Nevada finish. — Steve
