Travel resources for the famous cities and countryside of Giro d'Italia 2009

November 1 update: In preparation for the centennial edition of the Giro d'Italia, which will visit the most famous places in Italy next summer, you'll find more travel information than usual on our race dashboards for those planning a trip to Italy or for those dreaming of one. For the famous cities and countryside stages, I'll be provide a link to a Rick Steves video (see the Venice one below) and his accompanying books. Rick Steves is one of the best travel personalities that covers most of the famous tourist destinations in Europe. He is most famous for his first book, Rick Steves' Europe Through the Backdoor (see right). Other Italy travel and cycling books are listed here as well including the Eye Witness series by dk which provide better photos and the best summary of key information. — Steve
