March 18 update: Circuit de la Sarthe-Pays de la Loire or Circuit Cycliste Sarthe is a 5 stage (4 day) race (2.1) that has been held in the west part of France since 1953 (professionally since 1975). The terrain is flat to rolling through farmland country. Bernard Hinault, who was born in the area (Brittany), won the first two professional editions of this race in 1975 and 1976. Lance Armstrong, in addition to racing this year, has raced here in 1999, 2001 and 2003 -- winning a stage in 1999. Check back shortly for profiles and maps from bikemap.net and other details.
