Stage 1:  Lublin → Chełm, 216 km  Full Results and Report

Phil BAUHAUS (GER/BAHRAIN VICTORIOUS) about to win the cobbled Stage 1 sprint finish in 5:01:24 ahead of 2 Alvaro HODEG (COL/DECEUNINCK-QUICK STEP), 3 Hugo HOFSTETTER (FRA/ISRAEL START-UP NATION), 4 Edward THEUNS (BEL/TREK-SEGAFREDO), 5 David DEKKER (NED/JUMBO-VISMA), 6 Dion SMITH (NZL/TEAM BIKEEXCHANGE), 7 Jonas RICKAERT (BEL/ALPECIN-FENIX), 8 Biniam GIRMAY (ERI/INTERMARCHÉ-WANTY-GOBERT MATÉRIAUX), 9 Matej MOHORIC (SLO/BAHRAIN VICTORIOUS), 10 Michal KWIATKOWSKI (POL/INEOS GRENADIERS)

Phil BAUHAUS (GER/BAHRAIN VICTORIOUS) post-race: “I was super confident with our sprinting group to do a super good result today. We’ve had an amazing season so far and we prepared really good for this race. The race was pretty controlled, with three guys in the beginning. It was a long stage, but we took control of it with Kevin. Then 15km to go it started to be a little nervous, but we were together as a team, and the guys did amazing in the final circuit. I did a massive pull to get to the front where Haussler was. I was a bit nervous as I was on Gaviria’s wheel and he left a gap to the Quickstep guys 300m to go, so I had to chase it, and it was a bit uphill. I saved a bit of energy for the last 150 meters, had another kick. I was focused to catch Hodeg from Quickstep, and I made it.”

Stage 2:  Zamość → Przemyśl, 201 km  Full Results and Report

Joao ALMEIDA (POR/DECEUNINCK-QUICK STEP) wins the Stage 2 uphill finish in 4:41:33 ahead of 2 Diego ULISSI (ITA/UAE TEAM EMIRATES), 3 Matej MOHORIC (SLO/BAHRAIN VICTORIOUS), 4 Michal KWIATKOWSKI (POL/INEOS GRENADIERS) + 4s, 5 Mikkel HONORE (DEN/DECEUNINCK-QUICK STEP) + 8s

Joao ALMEIDA (POR/DECEUNINCK-QUICK STEP) post-race: “I am so happy, because this is such a great win for me. I was a bit nervous before the start of the final climb, but as soon as we arrived there I noticed how good I felt and decided to launch an all-or-nothing attack. I focused only on myself and on managing my effort, and even after Ulissi came across I continued to remain calm and still had enough left to surge to victory.”

First win this year for Fernando GAVIRIA (COL/UAE TEAM EMIRATES)

Fernando GAVIRIA (COL/UAE TEAM EMIRATES) post-race: “It was a really fast and long day. A big group got away up the road but we were convinced that if we worked to bring it back that we could be in contention for the win. The guys stuck together and did a superb job at delivering me to the right place, even though the finishing circuit was quite technical. Richeze and Troia kept me safe and guided me well. In the end I was able to take the win that I had been looking for. ”
