Stage winner, Giulio CICCONE (ITA/TREK - SEGAFREDO) said, “For sure this win is the one that makes me the happiest in my career. Beyond the victory, to have passed the Mortirolo in first position will remain a great memory. It’s such an important and historic climb! My main goal coming to the Giro was a stage win. The King of the Mountain competition is my second goal but I have such a big advantage now that I’ll just try to deal with it the best I can as well as staying close to our GC guy, Bauke Mollema. The Giro is not over. There are other hard stages to come.” | share this photo |

The Maglia Rosa Richard Carapaz said in the press conference: “It’s been a complicated stage because of the course and the weather towards the end. However, they were the same for everyone. It was cold but we’ve all cooperated to reach the finish. Thinking a bit about the closing time trial in Verona, Nibali attacked Roglic. Now we have a clear vision of who is up there on GC but there are still a lot of kilometres to recover any time lost. We can’t say we’re sure of anything yet.” | share this photo |
