One of the race favorites (on paper anyways) Bauke MOLLEMA (NED/TREK SEGAFREDO) signing for 1a in Gatteo	The main break escaped 12 km into stage 1a and built up a healthy gap (3:30) on the hilly course; Pascal EENKHOORN (NED/Lotto NL - Jumbo) escaped with Lawson Craddock (USA/EF Education First - Drapac) along with Emil DIMA (MS Tina - Focus) who was later dropped	With his teammate in the break, Sepp KUSS (USA/Lotto NL - Jumbo) biding his time as the peloton climbs the Longiano climb 3 times
