Wilco KELDERMAN (BELKIN) wasn't able to bridge up to SLAGTER and THOMAS, but he did hang on to finish 3rd +5s ahead of the field sprint won by Michael MATTHEWS (ORICA GreenEDGE)

Vincenzo NIBALI (Astana) attempted a late attack at the front of the chase, but was reeled in. He finished 26s + 5s

Stage 4 race leader John DEGENKOLB did a lot of chasing near the end which cost him. He ended up 31st + 18s and out of the Yellow Jersey.

Stage 4 winner Tom Jelte SLAGTER (GARMIN SHARP) is now 3rd on GC + 8s

New race leader Geraint THOMAS (SKY) by 3s after Stage 4
