August 31 update: Starting from the capital of Galicia (Santiago de Compostela) which is also a UNESCO world heritage site, Stage 13 is a lumpy 173 km north to Ferrol. Given that the next three stages will be tough mountainous days in the Asturias, a break may succeed so the GC contenders can rest up for the difficult days ahead. It will be up to the sprinter teams to bring it back. — Steve
