Mise à jour du 21 aout : La 5ème étape sera une course en circuit avec huit tours autour de Logroño, capitale de la communauté autonome de La Rioja. C’est la 16ème fois que Logroño accueille une étape de la Vuelta.

Le parcours sera quasiment tout plat avec une longue ligne droite jusqu’à la ligne d’arrivée, terrain idéal pour un sprint massif.  — Steve   (traduction Arnaud Hirtz)
