The break consisted of Peter Kusztor (Atlas Personal-Jakroo), , Winner Anacona (Lampre-ISD), Giairo Ermeti (Androni Giocattoli-Venezuela), Enrico Battaglin (Colnago-CSF Inox), Christian Cominelli (Team Idea), and Tiziano Dall’Antonia (Liquigas-Cannondale) |  After the break was caught before the second pass of the GPM with 75 km to go, Emanuele Sella (Androni Giocattoli-Venezuela) then went solo for 40 km. |  The chase led by Acqua & Sapone |
