He's carved out a tidy 1:33 lead over Alexandr Dyachenko (Astana) which his inferior team will now try to protect starting with Stage 4, a hilly route along the coast. April 23 update: Stage 3 is the mountain stage of this year's race with a summit finish in Elmali (Apple-town in English) where 12% of the apples in Turkey are grown. The stage profile isn't very detailed but it looks like the final climb gains 800m over 13 km for an average grade of 6%. The day starts at the coast and climbs inland up over two KOMs in the first half of the stage before the final kom at the finish.
