February 16 update: There is only one second separating first and second on GC but this is a flat stage so Vincenzo Nibali isn't likely to get any bonus time on this stage. See the stage profile, map and timetable in the race summary table (right). Steve
Stage 5 results: Vincenzo Nibali wins on Green Mountain; Peter Velits is now the race leader

February 17 update: Believe it or not, we have a serious mountaintop finish en store for stage 5 (profile). As you see, three of the final 4 kms average 13.5% and that's why some climbers like A Schleck, V Nibali have shown up. Last year Robert Gesink won this stage before going on to win the overall. Jacob Fuglsang (RadioShack) is the best placed GC rider this year.
Starting on the coast in Muscat, the peloton will head inland for 158 km and then finish part way up Jabal al Akhdhar which translates to "Green Mountain." At 3000m, it's the highest peak in Eastern Arabia and the riders will climb a new road up to the finish at 1235m. "You can't do all of the Green Mountain in February, because it's 18km long but we'll do the finish after six kilometres and I think that's enough," Eddy Merckx said. "It's at ten percent average and there are parts at 17 or 18%, so it'll be very tough."

February 16 update: The profile for this stage looks harder than it really is; there really isn't much elevation change. It's a lumpy stage not hilly and there should be another (bunch) sprint finish. It could be another win for Peter Sagan. See the stage profile, map and timetable in the race summary table (right). Steve
Stage 3 results: Marcel Kittel (Project 1T4I) takes the pure sprint finish in Muscat

February 15 update: The profile for this stage has been updated. The last 10 km are quite choppy and the finish is uphill. All this after a choppy 200 km hydro-foil ride to the start. It could be a good finish for Matt Goss or Peter Sagan. See the stage profile, map and timetable in the race summary table (right). Steve
Stage 1 results: André Greipel (Lotto Belisol) takes the opening sprint in Oman

This looks like a stage for the sprinters and there are a lot of good ones in the race. See the stage profile, map and timetable in the race summary table (right). Steve
