The Rabobank Continental Team. They finished 30th + 4:37.01.

Omega Pharma-Quickstep was one of the few teams where all six riders stayed intact

The current world champ, Tony Martin (second-right), helped Omega Pharma-Quickstep to a best time of 1:03:17.17 for the 53.2 km men's course

It's fitting that the team, Omega Pharma-Quickstep, that worked best as a team wins the World's time-trial championships

BMC was 2nd + 3.23

Best TT face of the day, but Samuel Harrison (Great Britain) could only manage 39th more than 4 minutes off the winning time.

The U23 TT winner was Anton Vorobyev (Russia), 36 km in 44:09.02 (48.9kph)

He said he kept a high pace throughout the course and wasn't worried about the hilly finish.

U23 TT favorite, Rohan Dennis (Australia) was 2nd, well back of the winner + 44.39

Tony Martin (Germany) has a had a rough season mostly due to injuries, but he was on the mark today

The hilly finish didn't suit Svein Tuft (Canada) who was 2nd several years ago on a much flatter course. This year 12th + 2:56.24.

Former world champ Bert Grabsch (Germany) didn't like the hilly twisty course, 36th + 4:16.85

Despite a fast race with lots of attacks, the U23 race came down to a sprint finish

The uphill finish on the Cauberg didn't suit two-time World Champ, Giorgia Bronzini (Italy) today. She finished 20th + 4:49.

Nicolas Roche (Ireland) was 34th today + 0:17. Twenty-five years ago his father Stephen won the Worlds Road Race in Austria (video).

Last year's world champ, Mark Cavendish said prior to the race he had "zero-chance" of winning on this course
