As usual at Omloop Het Nieuwsblad, a small break reached the finish first. This year, 23 year-old Sep Vanmarcke (Bel) Garmin-Barracuda outfoxed veterans Tom Boonen (Bel) Omega Pharma-Quickstep and Juan Antonio Flecha Giannoni (Spa) Sky Procycling
Tom Boonen started his sprint too early and Juan Antonio Flecha didn't have anything left which left Sep Vanmarcke to come around both riders with enough time for an emphatic victory salute
