Finishing Climb Profile
March 24 update: The mountain stage ends this year's race which I think most people prefer. The final climb to Col de l’Ospedale is 14.2 at 6.2% -- see the finish climb profile on the left. Andreas Klöden won this stage last year and the top 10 riders finished within 20 seconds. For more stage details, see the stage profile, map and timetable in the race summary table (right). — Steve

2012 Criterium International Race Preview
March 22 update: The Critérium International is a two day, three stage race held in France every spring. It was formerly known as the Critérium National de la Route, first run in 1932. [The modern version consists of a rolling stage with a flat finish, a mountain stage with an uphill finish and a short time-trial].According to wikipedia, for many years it was considered a sort of French national championship and was only opened to non-French cyclists in 1979.
The race has been won by some of the most famous names in cycling including Jacques Anquetil, Seán Kelly, Bernard Hinault, Miguel Indurain, Stephen Roche, Laurent Fignon and Jens Voigt.
In 2010, the race was moved from Northern France (Ardenees), its home for many years, to the island of Corsica in the Mediterranean Sea.
2012 stage maps, profiles and provisional team rosters are now posted. The host towns remain the same as 2011; however, the stages have been arranged. Last year the mountain stage led off the race. This year it is the final stage. The courses/distances are also slightly different — Steve
