Stage 12 is a tradition stage between the two mountain stages in Galicia starting in Ponteareas and finishing in and Pontevedra. This is the first time these cities have hosted Vuelta stages since the 1980s.
The two category 3 mountain climbs, Moscoso and Ponte Caldeas, are the perfect for launching breaks in the first half of the race. In the second half, we'll see if the sprinter teams can reel them in for a rare sprint finish. — Steve
