March 11 update: Stage 7 is the second of three mountain stages at this year's Paris-Nice. Unlike Stage 5, most of the climbing (action) occurs at the midpoint of this stage as the peloton heads east from the start in Brignoles to the finish at Biot - Sophia Antipolis on the Mediterranean Sea. Biot was also the stage 4 finish and stage 5 start host at February's Tour Méditerranéen. Vacansoleil's team leader, Romain Feillu, will know this area well as won the uphill finish in Biot (photo above). Can be certain, but it looks like the same finsh as this stage. In total there are five categorized climbs (see 3D flyovers below) in store for Saturday's stage 5. There is a cat3, two cat2s and two cat1s, but there is only a category 2 in the second-half of the stage so a sprinter than climbs relatively well, like Romain Feillu, could be around at the finish. There will be two laps of a hilly circuit in Biot. The mistral winds forecasted for Saturday will be a big factor. — Steve
