... more to come...
March 25 update: Recent editions of Coppi e Bartali have finished in Sassuolo with medium mountain stage that ends with numerous laps around a very technical, hilly circuit. A break will succeed we know that and there will be some carnage. If you love bike racing you'll enjoy this stage. Lampre has two of their riders now within 43s of Emanuele Sella, who saw the leaderbroad get more crowded after his 17th place ITT performance on Stage 4. His 1/2 minute lead on Diego Ulissi (Lampre - ISD) should be safe, but this is a hairy stage so nothing is guaranteed. Cunego withdraws from Settimana Internazionale Coppi e Bartali — cyclingnews
March 21 update: Settimana Internazionale di Coppi e Bartali is a five-day, six stages race held in the Emilia-Romagna region of Northern Italy. It's a 2.1 stage race that attracted seven ProTours in 2009, but the overlap with the ProTour event, Volta a Catalunya since last year, has hurt this fine race that has a rich history in Italian cycling. Liquigas – Cannondale and Lampre – Isd are the only ProTour teams partaking this year however, there will be strong field of Pro Continental teams lining up including two from the U.S.
This year's race runs March 22-26th and features one climbing stage, one hilly circuit stage, one stage for the sprinters, one rolling circuit (crit) stage that could go either way, an individual time-trial and a team time-trial. In other words, this race packs a little of every discipline into five days of racing. See the race summary table (right) for all the stage maps, profiles and timetables.
Check back for official team rosters. During the event links to results, photos and video will be posted here as usual.
