From the Stage 12 start in Andorra la Vella, the peloton heads south back to the flats. A break will get away with one category 2 climb in the first half of the stage before a lumpy descent and flat finish in Lleida 173 km later. Will they get reeled in by the finsh? Tune in and see. The sprinter teams may prefer to take their chances tomorrow.
The Vuelta last finished in Lleida in 1989, a stage won by British rider Malcolm Elliot, who at age 50 years old is still competing. He returned to competitive cycling in 2003 and currently races for Motorpoint Pro-Cycling Team, a UK continental squad.
