Rounding Lake Como. A long, wet, chilly, hilly, but scenic day in the saddle for the peloton on this day	HTC-Columbia's Michael Albansini was first man to Madonna del Ghisallo with 30 km to go	Philippe Gilbert at the front of the chase group
The descent of the new Colma di Sormano climb in the rain saw some important changes at the front of the race with several riders going down. Here's Androni Giocattoli's Leonardo Bertagnolli waiting for the broom wagon. Only 34 riders finished the race.	Philippe Gilbert on his own near the top of San Fermo with 5 km to go	Androni Giocattoli's Michele Scarponi was the last rider to stay with Gilbert before being dropped near the top of San Fermo
