June 12 update: After some serious mountain stages, spending the night at Allevard-les-Bains, the stage 7 start host, should be welcomed by the peloton. As the final stage heads northeast, the peloton won't encounter anymore high mountains but there is a cat 2 climb at the midway point and then five circuits in Sallanches with a cat 3 climb (a stiff 9.2% hill) each lap. (Note the interactive map above only shows one lap). The same climb was used for the 1980 World Championships won by Bernard Hinault, his first and only World Title. Janez Brajkovic has this race pretty much locked up with 1:41 lead.
