Riccardo Ricco' is back racing, this time for Ceramica Flaminia, after serving his (approximately) two-year doping suspension

Around and around they go on the Riccione circuits. With Volta a Catalunya taking place this week as well, the Coppi e Bartali field isn't as strong this year

After 80 km of racing, we have a photo finish between Francesco Chicchi (Liquigas-Doimo) and Mattia Gavazzi (Colnago-CSF)

Lets have a close-up. Still hard to call a winner.

But, Francesco Chicchi completed his bike throw for the win. That's Giro del Friuli winner, Roberto Ferrari (De Rosa-Stac Plastic), crossing third

Ceramica Flaminia teammates Massimiliano Gentili and Giampaolo Caruso went to the front for Riccardo Ricco on the next climb. Beside Ricco is Jose Serpa of Androni Giocattoli and in the rear is Domenico Pozzovivo of Colnago - CSF Inox and Jose Rujano Guillen (Ven) ISD - Neri

But, Przemyslaw Niemiec of Miche wanted the KOM points more than the others and was first over the top of Monte Trebbio (el 429m) before the descent to the finish

The break succeeded by 12 seconds; Jose Serpa came around the Miche riders and Riccardo Ricco in the bunch sprint...

An early break of six riders led by Dmytro Grabovskyy (ISD - Neri)

Although Liquigas held the leader's jersey, it was Ceramica Flaminia that did the chasing most of the day here led by Enrico Rossi

Przemyslaw Niemiec (Pol) Miche and Ivan Santaromita (Ita) Liquigas-Doimo going over Valico di Gaiato first with an 8 km descent remaining to the finish

In the end, the two up front stretched their lead out to 48 seconds with Przemyslaw Niemiec (missing the Miche icon on) winning the sprint

Thanks to a strong effort today and the Liquigas TTT win on stage 1b, Italy's Ivan Santaromita takes the overall lead by a healthy 58 second margin over Ricco
