There were 8 gravel sections totalling 57.2km sending white dust through the Tuscany countryside | 
Thomas Lövkvist caught the late break that included Giovanni Visconti (ISD, 6th), Ryder Hesjedal (Garmin - Slipstream, 10th ) and Daniele Bennati (Liquigas, 11th). |
Andy Schleck (Team Saxo Bank) finished in a very respectable 8th place on le strade bianche just 16 seconds back | 
Sweden's Thomas Lövkvist (Team Columbia) arrives in Siena's Piazza del Campo 4 seconds ahead of Germany's Fabian Wegmann (Team Milram) |
