December 17 update: Similiar to last year, Gazzetta dello Sport has put together a nifty animated fly through/ fly over of the 2009 Giro route (), originally shown during the corsa rosa roll out last Saturday in Venice. — Steve

The route is now official

December 13 update: There were no surprises in the official route announcement for the 92nd Giro d'Italia. The stage distances, maps and profiles are now posted for all stages (see right). Stage 10 (Cuneo → Pinerolo) is the queen stage featuring 5 big climbs including Col d'Izard, the Cima Coppi for this year. — Steve
