After the long four-man break is caught, Paulo Bettini leaps off the front of peloton at km 275

Thomas Lovkvist of High Road joins Bettini. That's Jose Ivan Gutierrez of Caisse d'Epargne in the background making an unsuccessful attempt to bridge up

The attacks out of the peloton are coming fast and furious now. Niklas Axelsson and Davide Rebellin have a gap

Five minutes later Axelsson and Rebellin have caught up with Bettini and Lovkvist.


Paolo Savoldelli has caught the four man break on the Cipressa descent.

The break was caught on the Poggio. Now the peloton is descending.
